The Staff Accountant supports the accounting department by managing daily financial operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with accounting regulations. This role is critical for account reconciliation, budgeting assistance, and financial statement preparation. The Staff Accountant will work cross-functionally to provide financial insights and support audits and forecasting activities. A successful candidate will be highly organized and detail-oriented, capable of handling multiple priorities independently or within a team environment.

Duties & Tasks:

  • Reconcile accounts and prepare financial reports
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance in financial statements
  • Collaborate with departments to deliver financial insights
  • Prepare journal entries and general ledger adjustments
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual bank reconciliations
  • Maintain accounting records and files in an organized manner

Requirements:

  • Education Requirement: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred
  • Preferred Education or Certification: CPA certification is a plus
  • Experience Requirement: 2–5 years of experience in accounting or financial reporting
  • Preferred Experience: Experience with audits, budgeting, and forecasting processes
  • Knowledge Requirement: Strong knowledge of GAAP and proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar)

This job is performed in a professional office environment. It also requires time on the shop floor with machining, assembly, and material technicians. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk on the shop floor. Occasionally may be required to drive and operate a fork truck.
