We are currently recruiting for a Head Receptionist to join our team at The Royal College of Pathologists in London. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional and personable individual to take ownership of the front‑of‑house function, ensuring a warm and efficient reception service.
Salary and Shift Pattern
- Salary: £37,800 per annum + Overtime.
- Shift Pattern: Mainly Monday‑Friday but occasional weekends according to business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day‑to‑day running of the reception area, ensuring a professional, welcoming, and efficient front‑of‑house service.
- Line‑manage and support one Receptionist, providing guidance, training, and performance oversight.
- Ensure smooth operation of the E‑reception system and manage all incoming calls via the Yealink phone system.
- Coordinate reception cover to support the College’s opening hours (8:00am – 6:00pm), with flexibility to accommodate events held earlier or later in the day.
- Act as the main point of contact for visitors, members, and stakeholders, delivering excellent customer service at all times.
- Liaise closely with internal teams, including events and facilities, to ensure seamless guest experiences.
Security & Compliance Responsibilities
- Hold and maintain a valid SIA licence, taking responsibility for overseeing basic security operations.
- Work in partnership with the College Facilities Team to ensure building safety, access control, and security procedures are followed.
- Monitor and manage visitor access, ensuring compliance with site policies and safeguarding standards.
- Maintain high standards of presentation and organisation within the reception area, ensuring it reflects the professionalism of the College.
