For over 60 years, VACGEN has been driving innovation in ultra-high vacuum (UHV) technology, supporting cutting-edge research across the globe. From NASA and the European Space Agency to CERN, our high-precision products are trusted by world-leading institutions and researchers to deliver results.
You will be responsible for manufacturing small components using a wide variety of machines. Additionally, as our Manual Turner, you will:
- Work to very high tolerances.
- Follow engineering drawings.
- Ensure that components are machined to the correct specification.
- Complete all relevant documentation.
- Carry out basic inspection of completed parts.
- Adhere to health and safety requirements at all times.
- Work to high standard of quality finishing components.
In order to be successful in this role it’s essential that you have / are:
- Previous experience working with manual lathes / turning machines.
- Previous experience of working within a machine shop.
- A good understanding of engineering drawings.
- The ability to work with very high tolerances.
- Time served with experience in using manual lathes and turning machines for the purposes of producing metal components. Experience of milling would be an advantage!
