ABOUT US: Vaccination UK has been commissioned by NHS England since 2015 to provide school aged immunisations, including Influenza, to pupils across numerous counties across England and all boroughs of North London. We are also commissioned by NHS England in North London to provide outbreak response in the event of a vaccine preventable disease outbreak, and we provide the infant BCG programme to newborns in North London. Our mission is to fight disease and save lives by making prevention and treatment easy, accessible and safe.
JOB DETAILS:
- Contract: Fixed Term (1 year)
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday between 7:00am - 6:00pm. (7.5 hour shift per day)

JOB PURPOSE: The post holder will be responsible for managing the immunisation team to ensure accurate and timely delivery of vaccination programmes, while ensuring results are achieved in line with contract specifications.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for leading and managing teams, including conducting performance management and absence management reviews, interviewing and onboarding candidates, overseeing probation reviews, and holding regular 1-to-1 meetings.
- Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the service in their borough.
- Collaborate closely with Clinical Leads to ensure the safe, effective and high-quality delivery of services.
- Modelling core values, fostering a harmonious, inclusive work environment by inspiring and motivating teams to produce exceptional work consistently.
- Plan, maintain, and manage a schedule to ensure adequate cover for all administrators and nurses, along with arranging emergency cover when necessary.
- Responsible for ensuring that the calendar for school immunisation sessions and catch-up clinics are completed in line with contract KPIs.
- Take a leading role in addressing health inequalities within the local community, identifying areas for improvement and driving initiatives to enhance relevant services.
- Manage consent form processing in accordance with Immunisation Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
- Ensure Patient Group Directives (PGDs) for Immunisations are signed and maintained.
- Responsible for team budgets and forecasting templates in line with KPIs.
- Continuously review uptake figures and collaborate with schools and the management to implement relevant improvement plans and strategies when uptake is low.
- Handle stock ordering and arrange transportation of vaccinations to the site.
- Actively and constructively contribute to team meetings.
- Support and deputise for the Programme Manager.
- Undertake other duties as required for this position's level.
- Comply with company policies and procedures.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
- Degree or equivalent (Desirable)
- Leading and managing teams (Health and Wellbeing industry is a bonus but not mandatory).
- Experience in managing and planning rotas.
- In-depth knowledge of performance metrics.
- Exceptional communication (written and verbal).
- Organisational and time-management skills.
- Assertive, team player and critical thinker.
- Excellent IT skills and advanced MS Excel.
