Blue Arrow is delighted to be supporting a prestigious, high-spec manufacturing organisation in Derby as they continue to expand their state-of-the-art production operations. This permanent opportunity offers the right candidate the chance to step into a progressive, well-established organisation with a fast turnaround for appointment. Our client is a leader in modern, low-carbon heating and hot water technology, recently investing in a new purpose-built manufacturing facility in Derby. The state-of-the-art site supports innovation, sustainability, and the growth of local employment, including the creation of up to 200 new roles as demand for low-carbon heating solutions continues to rise.

As a Manufacturing Team Leader working across a three-shift rotating pattern, you will play a key role in ensuring that production operations run safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. In this position, you will:

  • Lead and develop production teams across three rotating shifts, consistently achieving plan attainment, efficiency targets, and exceptional quality outputs.
  • Act swiftly to address variances, identify future risks, and ensure continuous production performance.
  • Use and maintain visual management tools and quality systems to ensure full adherence to Operations Processes.
  • Foster a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement across all manufacturing areas.
  • Analyse and evaluate business requirements, taking immediate action to eliminate root-cause issues that impact productivity or quality.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on new product introduction activities, supporting Innovation Processes that bring new ideas into serial production.
  • Serve as a role model and ambassador for a high-compliance, safe, and respectful work environment.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • A relevant management or engineering qualification, or equivalent practical leadership experience within manufacturing.
  • Proven experience leading teams of five or more people in a production environment, demonstrating strong people-development and performance leadership skills.
  • Solid engineering and assembly methods knowledge, strong Health & Safety awareness, and confident application of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
  • Additional certifications in Health & Safety or continuous improvement methodologies (advantageous, not essential).
  • A leadership approach that is empathetic, structured, motivating, and rooted in responsibility and respect.
  • Proficiency using Windows-based systems, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
