Company: Our client is a multinational Legal Tech company that develops integrated productivity solutions for the legal profession including practice management, case management, document management, accounting, and legal publishing, as well as client and lawyer collaboration tools.

Role: They are seeking a hands-on DevOps/Platform Support Engineer to help ensure the stability, reliability, and smooth operation of their Kubernetes-based platforms across the UK, Ireland, and Australia. This role focuses on monitoring, incident response, platform troubleshooting, and deployment support. You will work closely with their AU DevOps team, providing UK/IE daytime coverage for global environments, responding to alerts, fixing live issues, and supporting ongoing platform improvements.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement a scalable Azure SaaS architecture tailored to their legal software solution.
  • Collaborate with development teams to define infrastructure as code (IaC) strategies and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Migrate existing desktop-based components to Azure while maintaining data integrity and minimising downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR) in the architecture design.
  • Establish robust monitoring, logging, and alerting mechanisms for the Azure environment.
  • Optimise cloud resource usage to maintain cost efficiency without compromising performance.
  • Support and troubleshoot issues related to Azure infrastructure and applications.
  • Develop and document best practices for cloud deployment, management, and maintenance.
  • Support and troubleshoot issues in relation to the existing desktop application and infrastructure.

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven experience in designing and implementing SaaS solutions on Microsoft Azure.
  • In-depth knowledge of Azure services, including App Services, Azure SQL, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Functions, and Azure DevOps.
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, ARM templates, or Bicep.
  • Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
  • Expertise in cloud networking, security, and identity management (Azure Active Directory, role-based access control, etc.).
  • Familiarity with containerisation and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of database migration and optimisation within cloud environments.
  • Understanding of compliance and data protection requirements for cloud-hosted solutions.
  • The ability to use monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK Stack to maintain application and infrastructure health.

Desirable:

  • Hands-on experience with Grafana, Lens, and alerting systems.
  • Confident troubleshooting certificates, databases, pipelines, and system startup issues.
  • Comfortable working across regions and time zones with distributed teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and incident management mindset, working closely with the development team.
