Our very well regarded client based just outside of Norwich, Norfolk are now in the market for a Business Development / Account Manager to join their rapidly expanding team. This is a newly created role and will offer the unique blend of new business development together with developing and nurturing existing client relationships. Our client is in a very niche market but full industry training will be provided to the right candidate who is self motivated, punchy and able to manage new and existing clients. Candidates from a Construction, Geo related, Engineering industry base will be given priority.

This is an office-based role requiring strong communication, negotiation, and organisational skills, along with the ability to coordinate closely with operational and technical teams.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve company revenue targets.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within construction, offshore, infrastructure, utilities, and defence sectors.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
  • Prepare and present quotations, tenders, and commercial proposals.
  • Coordinate with operations and technical teams to ensure accurate project scope and pricing.
  • Liaise and coordinate/handover instructed works with the Operations Department.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation through contract award.
  • Maintain accurate sales records and pipeline reporting using CRM systems.
  • Attend client meetings, industry events, and networking opportunities as required.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments.
  • Ensure all commercial activities comply with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Support marketing initiatives and business development campaigns.
  • Provide regular sales forecasts and performance reports to senior management.
Required Skills/Qualifications
  • Proven experience in a Sales Manager or Business Development role.
  • Strong understanding of B2B sales processes.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
  • Experience within the geophysical surveying, construction, offshore, defence, or engineering sectors.
  • Knowledge of tendering and commercial contracts.
  • Existing industry contacts and client network.
  • Understanding of health & safety standards within technical industries.
