School Intensive Swimming Teacher (term time only)
Are you ready for an exciting career in the Leisure industry? We have a great opportunity for a qualified Swimming Instructor with an STA Award/Certificate or SEQ Level 2 qualification, or someone passionate and willing to achieve the STA Award qualification.
You will instruct, coach, and teach designated activities suitable for different ability levels, age groups, and target audiences. Your role involves teaching life skills, relaying information clearly, organizing lesson plans, conducting assessments, and ensuring the safe use and storage of equipment. You will help customers gain confidence in the water.
Halo centres are vital community assets, well used and supported locally. There is room for growth, and you will play a key role in shaping the future of this centre.
Salary & Hours
£13.50 – £15.00 per hour
12 hours per week

Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver swimming lessons to improve customer skills and confidence
- Provide constructive feedback to help customers progress
- Ensure customers understand water safety risks and build their confidence
- Meet performance targets
- Maintain a safe and clean environment, managing equipment properly
- Support and promote the centre\’s values and policies
- Assist colleagues and contribute to team efforts
- Engage in personal development and training
- Respect customer and colleague privacy rights
- Follow health and safety procedures and emergency plans
Skills, Qualities & Experience
- Experience instructing groups of mixed ages and abilities
- Knowledge of the National Plan for Swimming Teaching
- STA Award qualification or equivalent
- Good communication skills
- Flexible working hours, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays
- Willingness to achieve the NRASTC Light qualification (training provided)

- NPLQ qualification
