We are looking for an enthusiastic, suitably qualified individual who will play a crucial role in realising the department’s strategic objectives.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- To deliver lively and interactive teaching, learning and assessment to an outstanding standard on a range of programmes as appropriate.
- To secure outstanding success for all learners and ensure targets for recruitment, retention, achievement and success, attendance and progression are met.
- To support the design and development of engineering programmes across the provision range in engineering.
- To teach on a range of full-time, part-time and apprenticeship programmes within the engineering department.
- Engage in core duties including preparation, marking, monitoring student progress, preparing reports, setting and marking of examination papers, developing and preparing flexible learning materials.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Has a relevant degree in Engineering and equivalent higher technical expertise in this field (Mechanical & Electrical Engineering).
- Has or is willing to study for a relevant teaching qualification (DTLLS, PGCE or equivalent).
- Has industry experience, with current knowledge and the ability to deliver to industry standard.
- Is well organised and able to manage the peaks and troughs of a varied workload.
