About the role: As an Animal Management Technician, you will be responsible for the day-to-day welfare of the livestock, ensuring animal welfare is paramount and in accordance with current legislation. This includes maintaining high standards of cleanliness in the animal facility, supporting the maintenance and care of animal stocks and facilities, and ensuring animals have sufficient food and water, catering to any special dietary requirements.

Banbury and Bicester College is a centre of excellence in Animal Management, offering students the opportunity to work directly with a variety of animals, including aquatics, avians (including rare breed poultry), invertebrates, reptiles, and mammals such as rabbits, marmosets, and golden Guernsey goats.

What do you need to be a successful Animal Management Technician at Activate Learning?

  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in animal management
  • Experience working within the animal industry
  • Experience handling various animal species, including companion animals, birds, fish, or exotics (snakes, lizards, amphibians, invertebrates)
  • Evidence of managing health and safety in the workplace
