Power Systems Electrical Engineer

Role : Power Systems Engineer Location : East of England
Contract Length : 12 months (Outside IR35)
V7 are looking for an experienced HV Substation Power Systems Engineer to support the delivery of high-profile grid and energy transition projects across the UK. You will be responsible for the design, analysis, and integration of high-voltage substation systems (up to 400kV), ensuring safe, compliant, and technically sound solutions that support our national decarbonisation goals.
12 month contract
~ Weekly payroll

Perform load flow, short-circuit, arc flash, and protection coordination studies using industry software
Provide technical input to commissioning and FAT/SAT activities, ensuring system integrity and safety.
2+ years’ experience in HV substation or power systems engineering (preferably up to 132kV–400kV).
~ Power system modelling and fault level analysis
~ HV equipment operation (transformers, switchgear, CTs/VTs, protection relays)
