Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Passive Fire Project Manager on a contract basis to lead the delivery of multiple high-rise residential fire-stopping projects in Canary Wharf. This role is site-based and requires an organised individual with a proven ability to manage complex construction projects from inception to completion. The contract will run indefinitely (long-term opportunity).

You will be responsible for coordinating site teams, ensuring works are compliant with fire safety regulations, managing project timelines, and delivering work to the highest quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of passive fire-stopping projects on site.
  • Manage daily operations, supervise site teams and subcontractors, and ensure all tasks are completed on schedule.
  • Liaise with clients, main contractors, consultants, and building control officers as needed.
  • Ensure all passive fire protection works are installed in line with manufacturer specifications, industry standards, and current fire safety legislation (e.g., BS 476, BS EN 1366).
  • Monitor and enforce strict health & safety standards and carry out site inspections and toolbox talks.
  • Maintain detailed project documentation including daily reports, RAMS, QA records, and fire-stopping logs.
  • Report on project progress, risks, and issues to senior management regularly.
  • Ensure materials and labour are effectively planned and allocated to avoid delays.
  • Deliver projects within agreed budgets and timescales.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience managing passive fire protection or fire-stopping projects, ideally in high-rise or residential buildings.
  • Strong working knowledge of passive fire-stopping systems and materials.
  • In-depth understanding of relevant fire safety regulations and third-party accreditation schemes (e.g., FIRAS, BM TRADA).
  • CSCS card (Gold or Black preferred).
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with reporting tools and project documentation.
  • FIRAS / BM TRADA certification (company or individual).
  • Previous experience working on London-based high-rise residential schemes.
  • Competitive day rate (based on experience).
