The Opportunity

We are supporting a leading contractor delivering large-scale data centre and mission-critical projects across Europe. Due to continued growth across several live programmes, the business is looking to appoint an experienced Design Project Manager to take ownership of multidisciplinary design delivery on a major project. Working closely with project teams, consultants and specialist subcontractors, the successful individual will be responsible for driving design coordination across Civil, Structural, Architectural and MEP disciplines, ensuring information is delivered in line with programme requirements and construction objectives. This position sits at the intersection of design, construction and project delivery, making it well suited to someone who enjoys working closely with operational teams rather than operating solely within a design office environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of multidisciplinary design delivery, ensuring design information is coordinated, issued and managed in line with project requirements.
  • Act as the central point of coordination between consultants, specialist subcontractors and project teams throughout the design lifecycle.
  • Drive design programme performance, ensuring key deliverables are achieved in line with construction milestones and overall project objectives.
  • Lead technical reviews and design coordination activities across CSA and MEP disciplines, resolving interface issues before they impact delivery.
  • Work closely with construction and commercial teams to ensure design solutions remain practical, buildable and aligned with programme requirements.
  • Manage design development, technical queries, design changes and project documentation throughout the lifecycle of the project.
  • Identify technical, coordination and programme risks early and implement mitigation strategies to maintain project progress.
  • Provide regular reporting and updates to project leadership on design performance, key deliverables and emerging project risks.

Candidate Profile

  • Previous experience leading or coordinating multidisciplinary design activities on major construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of how design, construction and project delivery interact within technically complex environments.
  • Comfortable managing consultants, specialist designers and project stakeholders across multiple workstreams.
  • Proven ability to drive design programmes, coordinate competing priorities and maintain progress against key project milestones.
  • Strong appreciation of both CSA and MEP disciplines and the interfaces between them.
  • Confident operating within fast-paced project environments where collaboration between design and delivery teams is critical.
  • Experience gained within data centres, mission-critical facilities, industrial, pharmaceutical, advanced manufacturing or similarly complex construction sectors would be advantageous.
  • Degree qualified or possessing an equivalent technical background within engineering, construction, architecture or a related discipline.

What's on Offer

  • Opportunity to play a key role within a major live project for a well-established contractor operating across the European data centre market.
  • Exposure to complex, large-scale developments where design coordination has a direct impact on project delivery and construction outcomes.
  • Long-term pipeline of work supported by continued investment and project growth across multiple European locations.
  • Collaborative project environment with close interaction between design, commercial and operational teams.
  • Competitive salary, benefits package and genuine long-term career prospects.
