Service & Maintenance Engineer – Emergency Lighting & Fire Alarms (Subcontract) V7 are seeking skilled Service & Maintenance Engineers to work on a large-scale public sector project in North Yorkshire. This is a long-running contract with our national client, offering consistent, ongoing work and great potential for long-term subcontract opportunities. The role involves servicing and maintaining emergency lighting systems and fire alarm systems across a range of public buildings, including housing, education facilities, and care environments. Role Overview * Carry out routine servicing, testing, and compliance checks on emergency lighting in line with BS 5266. * Service, fault-find, and repair both addressable and conventional fire alarm systems in accordance with BS 5839. * Respond to reactive maintenance calls and complete remedial works where necessary. * Provide clear service reports and communicate findings with site contacts. * Ensure all work is carried out to relevant industry standards and safety regulations. What’s On Offer * Stable, long-term subcontract work with a reputable national contractor. * Monday to Friday schedule, with optional weekend work. * 6-month rolling contract with the potential for multi-year engagement. * Rates from £33 per hour, with enhanced overtime rates available. * Outside IR35 – weekly payments every Friday. What We’re Looking For * Proven experience servicing emergency lighting and fire alarm systems. * Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities. * Familiarity with industry standards BS 5266 and BS 5839. * Electrical isolation qualification preferred. * Experience in housing, education, or care environments. * Must hold a current DBS check
