Environmental Officer (Waste & Recycling)

V7 are looking for an experienced Environmental Officer on behalf of our close client, operating in the Manufacturing Industry. It\’s the business have a large portfolio of work and this is the opportunity to join a growing business with long-term development opportunities. Environmental Monitoring & Reporting * Monitor and evaluate environmental performance (emissions, and wastewater discharge compliance). * Prepare and submit required environmental reports, permits, and documentation to regulatory authorities’ internal stakeholders and sustainability partners on time. Regulatory Compliance * Maintain up-to-date knowledge of environmental legislation and advise management and stakeholders on regulatory changes and implications. * Ensure that the appropriate measures are put in place to mitigate the risk of both existing and new regulatory and other requirements. Audits & Inspections * Conduct regular site inspections and internal audits to identify risks, non-compliance, and improvement opportunities. * Coordinate and support external inspections or audits by regulatory or certification bodies to ensure voluntarily adopted standards (i.e. Waste & Resource Management * Oversee proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste. * Promote resource efficiency, waste reduction, and recycling initiatives throughout the business. Investigate environmental incidents or non-conformances, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions. * Maintain records of spills, emissions, and other environmental incidents, ensuring appropriate follow-up and reporting. Training & Awareness * Develop and deliver environmental training programs for staff to raise awareness and ensure compliance as instructed. * Foster a workplace culture that values environmental responsibility and sustainability.
