We are supporting a leading construction contractor with a strong pipeline of projects across Ireland. Due to continued growth, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a high-performing commercial team based in Dublin. This role offers the opportunity to work on large-scale construction projects while taking ownership of key commercial activities from procurement through to final account. The successful candidate will work closely with project and commercial leadership teams to ensure projects are delivered successfully from both a contractual and financial perspective. The position would suit a commercially driven Quantity Surveyor looking to further develop their career within a progressive and growing construction environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commercial Management
  • Prepare monthly valuations, applications for payment and commercial reports
  • Monitor project costs, forecasts and cash flow performance
  • Support procurement activities and subcontract package management
  • Review contract documentation and identify commercial risks and opportunities
  • Prepare and agree interim and final accounts
  • Manage variations, change control and contractual entitlements
  • Maintain accurate commercial records and project documentation
  • Support project teams with commercial and contractual matters
  • Assist in the preparation of forecasts, budgets and financial reporting
  • Contribute to successful project close-out and final account agreement

Team & Project Support

  • Support and mentor junior members of the commercial team
  • Collaborate closely with project management, procurement and planning functions
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners
  • Promote best practice and consistency across commercial processes
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of commercial systems and procedures

Requirements

  • 7+ years' experience within a Quantity Surveying or commercial function
  • Experience working for a main contractor or large construction organisation
  • Previous experience delivering construction or civil engineering projects
  • Strong understanding of contract administration and commercial management
  • Proven experience managing valuations, variations and final accounts
  • Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline
  • Professional membership or chartership is advantageous
  • Strong IT and reporting capabilities
