We are looking for an experienced Passive Fire Engineer to join our team on a self-employed subcontract basis. The successful candidate will carry out a range of passive fire protection works across commercial, education and public sector properties.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out fire door inspections, surveys, repairs and installations.
- Undertake passive fire stopping installations and remedial works.
- Conduct compartmentation and fire stopping surveys.
- Identify and report defects in passive fire protection systems.
- Produce clear photographic evidence and digital survey reports.
- Complete remedial works in accordance with current British Standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Work independently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship and compliance.
- Liaise professionally with clients, site managers and tenants where required.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience within the passive fire protection industry.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Fire doors
- Fire stopping systems
- Compartmentation
- Penetration sealing
- Fire barrier systems
- Ability to complete accurate surveys and reports using digital devices.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Own van, tools and PPE.
- CSCS Card.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Desirable Qualifications
- FDIS Fire Door Inspection qualification.
- FIRAS, BM TRADA or equivalent industry accreditation.
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Passive Fire Protection.
- DBS Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
- First Aid at Work qualification.
