AOV & Smoke Vent Engineer (Long-Term Temporary Subcontract Role) V7 are looking for experienced AOV and Smoke Vent Engineers for a 5-year public sector contract with loads of ongoing work and excellent opportunities for long-term subcontract roles. This project focuses on social housing, schools, and elderly care homes nationwide. Our client is a rapidly growing national business specialising in the security and fire industry, delivering high-quality installation, service, and maintenance nationwide. The Contract * Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive servicing of AOV (Automatic Opening Vent) systems and smoke ventilation systems. * Fault-finding, diagnostics, and minor repairs to keep systems fully operational and compliant. * Working on systems such as natural ventilation (louvres, casement windows) and mechanical smoke extraction fans. * Inspection and testing of controls, actuators, sensors, and emergency override systems. * Working closely with site managers and housing officers to ensure compliance with BS 7346 and other fire safety regulations. * Ideally, experience with fire alarm systems for integration and cause-and-effect testing. * Servicing work primarily on social housing sites. Requirements * Proven experience in servicing and maintaining AOV and smoke ventilation systems. * Competent with both natural and mechanical ventilation systems. * Fire alarm servicing experience (desirable). * Electrical isolation qualification. * Knowledge of compliance standards for smoke control systems in residential buildings. * Experience working on social housing, schools, or care home sites. * DBS checked
