I am currently recruiting on behalf of a bespoke house builder who have an exciting opportunity for an Estimator to join their company in the Winchester area. The salary is up to £55,000 per year + Car Allowance (depending on experience) plus an excellent benefits package. You will be reporting direct to the Commercial Director.
Key Responsibilities for the position include:
- Preparing estimates of all prime costs.
- Liaising with the other departments to ascertain costs of land, technical, statutory services and site overheads and revenues with land.
- Attend weekly meetings when necessary.
- Undertaking subcontractor and material supplier quotation analysis, ensuring compliance and competitiveness.
- Maintaining working relationships with local and national supply chains.
- Working closely with the Commercial Team to successfully transfer Site Budgets over to relevant Quantity Surveyor and advise on budget figures accordingly.
- In advance of a land purchase, preparing construction land budgets for the Land Manager to evaluate the site, assisting the Land Manager/Sales Team to determine the best house mix for the site.
- Ensuring that all estimating work required to deliver the businesses unit output is completed timely and within an agreed programme.
Key Qualifications & Skills required for the position include:
- Estimating experience within the residential sector.
- HNC in Building or equivalent.
- Strong experience and knowledge of building regulations.
- Excellent Communication Skills.
- Ability to organise and prioritise.
- SMSTS, CSCS & First Aid.
- Full UK Driving License.
- Right to work in the UK.
