Our client is looking for a Groundworks Project Manager to work at a location around the M27 / M3 corridor. The Project Manager will oversee the planning, execution, and closure of site preparations projects, ensuring work (excavation, drainage, foundations) is completed safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Planning & Scheduling: Developing detailed work programs, setting benchmarks, and establishing project timelines to meet deadlines.
- Site Supervision & Safety: Overseeing daily on-site operations, managing subcontractors, and enforcing health and safety protocols (e.g., Risk Assessments, Method Statements).
- Budget & Resource Management: Controlling project costs, managing budget expenditure, and procuring materials and equipment.
- Technical Compliance & Quality: Ensuring all groundworks comply with design documents, building regulations, and quality standards.
- Stakeholder Communication: Acting as the main point of contact for clients, architects, and surveyors, providing regular progress reports.
- Risk Management: Identifying potential issues, mitigating risks, and resolving unforeseen problems on site.
Key Skills & Experience
- A degree in Construction Management, Engineering (or related field) preferred and proven working history.
- Proven previous delivery of ground engineering projects.
- Demonstrable leadership skills with ability and willingness to face challenges, solve problems, and motivate others, while maintaining effective relationships with customers by meeting or exceeding their requirements and expectations.
- Able to supervise and develop direct reports while prioritising and delegating significant responsibilities to others.
- Able to manage essential functions effectively by consistently driving for quality, profitable, safe, and timely results on the assigned project.
- Good communication skills delivering instructions to teams clearly.
- Demonstrates solid presentation skills and verbal/written skills.
- Able to demonstrate proficiency using a personal computer (PC) and company communication tools, such as email, internet, and Microsoft products (e.g., Word, Excel, Office, Outlook).
