We are seeking a motivated and experienced Part Exchange Vehicle Appraiser to support our busy sales department.

Working hours: 42.5 hours a week to include weekends.

Role Overview

As a Part Exchange Vehicle Appraiser, you will be responsible for accurately assessing the vehicles offered in part exchange, ensuring our vehicles are priced accurately. Basic car knowledge with understanding of vehicle damage/preparation costs is preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Vehicle Appraisals: Conduct detailed appraisals of vehicles offered in part exchange, considering factors such as condition, mileage, history and other factors that influence valuations. Utilise industry-standard tools and software to assess vehicle values and generate accurate pricing. Communicate effectively with the sales team to explain appraisal results. Drive each of the potential part exchange vehicles to help identify mechanical issues.
  • Auction Disposals: Identify suitable retail stock from those taken in part exchange. Oversee the disposal process of vehicles not retained for resale, including the documentation, and logistics for the auction.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience in vehicle appraisal or a similar automotive role.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with the sales team.
  • Proficient in using appraisal software and auction platforms.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise own workload.
  • Attention to detail and a methodical approach to handling multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
