We’re working with a leading global training provider that delivers safety, technical, and skills training across the electricity distribution and transmission sector. They’re known for hiring instructors who’ve genuinely lived the job — and they’re now looking for an experienced Overhead Lines professional ready for a new challenge.

You’ll bring deep, hands‑on expertise in overhead lines work, and in return you’ll be fully trained and supported to become an outstanding Trainer — delivering practical, high‑impact training across electricity distribution and transmission systems, and assessing learners’ competency in real work activities.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Designing, writing and delivering high-quality training packages
  • Delivering training in line with industry overhead lines standards and health & safety legislation
  • Assessing learners against industry standards (NVQs, Diplomas, End Point Assessment)
  • Carrying out assessments in line with awarding body and Centre policies and procedures
  • Working closely with clients to understand and meet their training needs
  • Supporting learners to achieve their qualifications

Core subject areas will include overhead line construction and maintenance, supporting delivery of the Technical Certificate in Power Engineering, and compliance training related to distribution work. You’ll be based primarily in Manchester, with some travel to client locations, including occasional overnight stays.

What We’re Looking For

Essential

  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in the electricity distribution or commercial sector
  • A strong transmission overhead lines background, with relevant certifications
  • A working knowledge of the electricity distribution system

Desirable (willing to work towards)

  • A teaching qualification (e.g. PTTLS)
  • An assessor qualification (e.g. CAVA, A1, D32/D33)
  • A health and safety qualification (e.g. IOSH, NEBOSH)
  • A working knowledge of LV and HV operations
