EQA / EXTERNAL VERIFIER – SOUTH
INTRO
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a prestigious awarding organisation as an EQA (External Quality Assurer) in a full-time, permanent role.
In this centre-facing EQA role, you will work directly with the organisations approved Training Providers to ensure compliance. You will carry out approvals and audits in line with internal quality assurance processes, supporting centres by building relationships with centre staff, providing information, advice and guidance and creating action / improvement plans where required.
The role will mainly focus on the EQA of Construction related qualificatons, so a background in Construction is preffered but not essential. Applicants must however be qualified and experienced EQAs / External Verifiers.
This is a home-based role involving a combination of remote work and traveling to recognised training centres in and around your region – so flexibiltiy to travel will be required.
We are seeking candidates who are based in the South, somewhere between North London and Coventry. Ideal locations are High Wycombe, Reading, Slough, Watford, Oxford, Luton, Bedford and Northampton.
THE ROLE
- Carry out External Quality Assurance of Approved Centres, recording activities and identifying actions where appropriate, to ensure accurate and consistent standards of assessment.
- Answer technical enquiries from industry, clients and potential clients on all aspects of the qualifications and related activities
- Develop and deliver CPD events
- Represent the organisation at events, forums, workshops and other related technical committees
- Promote knowledge of products and services
- Write articles, give interviews and deliver contributions to workshops, trade journals and other appropriate media.
- Provide support when required at Regulatory Authority and internal audits.
- Respond to telephone/email enquiries/complaints and to record the information.
- Contribute to standards and qualification development / review activities
- Provide support at national events where necessary
- Review/monitor Health and Safety in the workplace compliance
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Holder of relevant, nationally approved Assessor, Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) and External Quality Assurance (EQA) awards.
- Confident and articulate self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently and make recommendation to improve internal systems and procedures.
- Knowledge of competence based qualifications and associated systems and procedures.
- Experience of carrying out internal and external quality assurance of qualification based products and services and providing relevant advice, support and guidance
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally by written word and orally (one to one and at meetings).
- IT literate
- Experience of production of reports and/or newsletters preferably of a technical/qualification related nature.
- Ability to work co-operatively and flexibly with people at all levels, e.g. colleagues, potential centres, recognised centres, External Quality Advisors, assessors, qualification candidates,
strategic organisations and regulatory authorities. - Ability to scan the media and identify issues that could provide threats or opportunities for an awarding body to investigate/follow up.
- Ability to provide support at awarding body events, regulatory authority meetings, consultations, industry federation meetings etc.
- Actively seek opportunities to develop/improve own skills and practice
- Experience in the Construction sector, with knowledge of supporting/related industries is preferred but not essential.

- Salary: £40k + bonus
