Selective are recruiting on behalf of an Ofqual recognised Apprenticeship End Point Assessment Organisation (EPAO). As an organisation, they are committed to quality and deliver a rigorous apprenticeship end point assessment service. Their service helps to ensure that apprentices, working within a range of industries, are able to do the job they are trained for.

We are looking for Technical Experts and End Point Assessors to support the development, delivery and assessment of Level 2 Drainage Network Operative Apprenticeship standard. If working as an EPA, you will carry out assessments of Drainage Network Apprentices, including practical observations and technical interviews. You’ll play a vital role in validating skills and knowledge. If working as a Technical Expert, your experience will be utilised to provide up-to-date industry expertise to help the organisation to develop assessments and guidance.

STANDARD - LEVEL 2 DRAINAGE NETWORK OPERATIVE

Drainage Network Operatives ensure the serviceability and condition of the sewerage network, providing rapid response to failures in the sewerage network, and investigate causes of the issues. This occupation is found in the utilities sector, in the waste water industry. Drainage network operatives work in both domestic and commercial settings, providing customer service in the provision of sewerage maintenance services, ensuring the health and safety of employees, customers, suppliers, and communities. This is a field-based occupation, working at company and private premises, that includes public highways, to clean, clear and identify defects to maintain private and public drainage systems.

THE ROLE

The role is offered on a generous Zero Hours Contract, which includes pension contributions. The hours available vary dependent on demand, and you always have a choice to accept assignments based on their availability. This role may be undertaken complementary to an existing substantive position with the permission of your current employer or within a wider portfolio of activities. The role will be home-based with travel to conduct assessments. If solely working as a Technical Expert, no travel will be required.

Upon taking assignments from the Service Delivery team, you will deliver end-point assessment for the relevant apprenticeship standard and assessment method you are approved for. You will undertake (remotely or directly) development of end point assessment activities (which may include practical observations and technical interviews), awarding a preliminary grade and ensuring that all assessment decisions are fair, objective, free of bias and based on all relevant evidence presented. You will accurately record the outcomes of all end point assessment activity using assessment material, submitting these records within required timescales.
