OVERVIEW
V Selective are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and successful Awarding Organisation (AO) who are currently going through an exciting period of growth. They are looking to appoint an experienced AO Business Development Manager to cover the South of England. This will be a home-based role with regular travel to existing and prospective centres, so we are seeking someone based in the South of England, with around Coventry / Northampton being as far North as we would consider. The role will likely involve 2+ days per week on the road. You will manage your own diary. As BDM you will drive business growth and development through the acquisition of new business and strategic management of relationships with new and existing Training Centres (account management), ensuring sustainable revenue growth and long-term partnership success. With a wide range of qualifications in their portfolio, many newly launched - this role offers huge potential for both new business development and account management. - Proven track record in business development and relationship management working for an awarding organisation (AO)
- Strong sales and negotiation skills with ability to close new business
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strategic thinking and planning capabilities
- Analytical skills for performance monitoring and market analysis
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently
- Understanding of vocational education and training sector
- Experience with qualification awarding bodies or education providers
- Knowledge of construction, health & safety, or related sectors
- CRM system experience and data analysis capabilities
- Project management skills
- Understanding of regulatory frameworks in vocational education
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Business Development and Acquisition
- New Centre Development
- Identify, evaluate, and pursue new business opportunities to expand the organisation's reach and revenue
- Generate new business through self-directed prospecting and lead qualification
- Convert marketing leads into approved centre partnerships
- Develop and implement comprehensive acquisition strategies
- Develop new business from existing customers through cross-selling and up-selling opportunities
- Identify expansion opportunities within current Centre portfolio
- Drive growth in learner registrations and turnover across managed accounts
- Portfolio Management
- Manage a portfolio of new and existing Approved Centres ensuring regular communication and proactive relationship management
- Act as primary point of contact for key partners, ensuring clear communication and alignment of goals
- Develop and implement comprehensive strategies to strengthen relationships with existing customers and foster long-term collaborations
- Monitor and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction across Centre portfolio
- Gather and communicate Centre feedback to guide qualification development and continuous improvement efforts
- Ensure retention of new and existing Centre portfolio year on year
- Internal Partnerships
- Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, marketing, and product development, to align business development strategies with business objectives
- Support the organisation’s overall strategic objectives through effective relationship management
- Lead and support agreed strategic projects and initiatives
- Monitor, analyse, and report on business development performance and KPIs (including learner volumes, turnover, and Centre retention)
- Identify market areas for improvement and growth opportunities
- Provide regular performance reports and strategic recommendations
