END POINT ASSESSOR (EPA) – HEAT NETWORK MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

PART TIME / FLEXIBLE ROLE

INTRO

V Selective is recruiting on behalf of an Ofqual recognised Apprenticeship End Point Assessment Organisation (EPAO).
As an organisation, they are committed to quality and deliver a rigorous apprenticeship end point assessment service.
Their service helps ensure apprentices in various industries are competent in their roles.
Key industries supported include Gas, Power, Water, and Nuclear.

They are currently seeking End Point Assessors to support the delivery of the Level 3 Heat Network Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship standard, joining their bank of Independent End Point Assessors.

Level 3 Heat Network Maintenance Technician: Heat network technicians operate, maintain, and repair district heat network equipment. This involves attending customer properties—residential and commercial—as well as distribution substations and energy centres, generating heat and often electricity.

THE ROLE

The position is offered on a generous Zero Hours Contract, which includes pension contributions. Hours vary based on demand, and registered EPAs can accept assignments according to their availability. This role may complement an existing position with your current employer or other activities.

The role is home-based with travel required for assessments.

As an EPA, you will deliver assessments for the relevant apprenticeship standard and assessment method approved for you.

You will conduct assessment activities—remotely or in person—including practical observations and technical interviews, awarding preliminary grades and ensuring assessments are fair, objective, and evidence-based.

You will record assessment outcomes accurately and submit records within required timescales.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

We seek applicants who:

  • Are technical experts with recent, relevant experience in the district heating sector at least at occupational level 3, gained within the last 5 years, or have significant sector experience.
  • Have an engineering background, specialising in operation and maintenance of district heat networks, including experience with residential and commercial systems, customer heat interface units, distribution substations, and energy centres.
