We are seeking a passionate Animation Tutor to join the team on a part-time basis. You will play a pivotal role in guiding learners as they build their portfolios and prepare for the industry.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Inspire & Deliver: Plan and deliver engaging, industry-relevant lessons that support learner progression and connect with their unique creative interests.
- Support & Track: Conduct bi-termly one-to-one student tutorials, manage individual learning plans, and utilize Google Sheets and the Arbor MIS system to track attendance and academic growth.
- Assess & Feedback: Use a diverse range of assessment methods to provide prompt, constructive, and outstanding feedback that inspires student confidence.
- Collaborate & Enrich: Foster innovative interdepartmental project collaborations and facilitate exciting enrichment trips and guest speaker events throughout the academic year.
- Final Delivery: Support learners through to their final assessed end-of-year projects, keeping a strong focus on stable learner retention and achievement.
- Safety & Compliance: Promote the safety, wellbeing, and safeguarding of all learners (utilizing CPOMS), and undertake continuous in-house training to align with awarding body expectations.
- Education: Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant field.
- Technical Skillset: Proven experience with Animating, skinning, and rigging in Maya or Blender. Strong Blender, drawing, and 2D art skills. Proficiency in Photoshop for concept art, textures, and modelling. Solid workflow experience with Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Effects.
- Industry Knowledge: A strong awareness and understanding of current industry pipelines and workflows.
- Teaching/Practice: Evidence of outstanding practice working in a relevant creative or educational environment, backed by excellent communication skills.
- Familiarity with animation-to-engine pipelines, ideally using Unity or Unreal Engine.
- Experience utilizing Excel/Unity for 3D game production.
- Extended skills in 3D modelling and texturing using Blender or Autodesk Maya.
