V-Recruit are excited to be working in partnership with one of the UKs most forward thinking, recognised and respected Multi-Academy Trusts to recruit 1 x Catering Assistant for one of their secondary schools in Barnsley, South Yorkshire to start work as soon as possible for a temporary contract. Your main duties would include: * Assisting in the preparation, cooking and serving of food to staff and students * Producing meals of consistently high standards on a daily basis * Following food hygiene and cleanliness standards in the kitchen in accordance with health and safety, food hygiene and COSHH regulations at all times * Washing dishes, cutlery, tumblers, jugs, serving utensils, tables, and all other catering equipment in the catering environment * To clean on a daily basis all catering areas to an agreed standard, keeping them free from hazards * To act as a cashier as required, under supervision * To always ensure the safe operation of all kitchen equipment * Reporting all accidents, incidents and near misses are reported, including notifiable diseases, in a timely manner Job Specifics Hourly rate £11.50 per hour Four hour days, Monday to Friday working 10am-2pm Candidate requirements The chosen candidate must have their Level 2 or equivalent in Food Hygiene, or demonstrable experience of working at that level, a willingness to undergo or enhance additional training as required by your role.
