V-Recruit are excited to be working in partnership with one of the UKs most forward thinking, recognised and respected Multi-Academy Trusts to recruit a School Administration Assistant for one of their Secondary academies, based in Barnsley, South Yorkshire.
Required from as soon as possible, V-Recruit would employ you on a temporary basis, for a minimum of 15 weeks. 37.5 hours per week, term time only. (Holiday Pay to be accrued). Working hours are 8am-4pm, Monday to Friday with 30 minutes lunch per day. £115.38 day rate, paid PAYE. Approximately 15 weeks work, although this could be extended.
Although you may support other departments at times, most of your time will be spent supporting the busy Attendance team. Some of your main duties will include:
- Helping to ensure that all registers are completed and maintained with complete accuracy on a daily basis.
- To ensure that all attendance data is entered onto the database including for visits and other on or off-site activities.
- Communicating with parents/carers regarding attendance, and keeping records of calls and reasons for absence, offering support and challenging where appropriate.
- Typing up and sending out letters to parents and other parties regarding absence and attendance, including processing student leave of absence requests.
- Identifying concerns and highlighting attending issues to the appropriate member of staff, ensuring all information is passed to the relevant person/people in an appropriate and timely manner.
- Liaising with Education Welfare Officer and Non-Teaching Heads of Year to help raise academy attendance and reduce persistent absence.
- Editing and maintaining Excel spreadsheets and maintaining the Management Information Systems.
- Using Sims and other internal databases to extract data/information regarding staff and/or students.
- Attending meetings and taking minutes to the meetings, sending out follow up letters and documents.
- Ensuring GDPR regulations, and student/staff confidentiality procedures are always adhered to.
- Completing data input and administrative duties in relation to potentially vulnerable students.
- Reporting any Safeguarding concerns appropriately.
- Late gate duty.
- Producing and maintaining displays on attendance around the school.
The chosen candidate will be personable, confident, and professional and take pride in all aspects of their work. This will be a fast paced, varied role which would suit someone with a strong administrative background. Ideally some experience within an educational setting would be advantageous, but full training will be given to the chosen candidate.
The successful candidate will be well supported, and have extensive opportunities for personal and professional development, including the opportunity to apply for any internal, permanent positions that become available in the Academy, or across the Trust.
