Software Engineer - Visual Quality

Working on our Visual Quality test framework, you will have the opportunity to develop and maintain new features and integrations, contribute to project requirements, and report on progress to senior stakeholders. Our test frameworks are central to our codec development, helping us to further develop and demonstrate our technology’s effectiveness. Working within an Agile team (scrum-based), you will contribute to sprint content and influence development direction.

Responsibilities

• Develop new features, integrate new codec tools and types, and maintain our comprehensive in-house test and visual quality frameworks for codec-related products.
• Understand project scopes, break down requirements/stories, define acceptance criteria, and develop test cases.
• Provide clear progress updates and document requirements and work completed.
• Select appropriate tools and infrastructure for visual quality testing.
• Debug, identify root causes, and resolve defects within our test frameworks.
• Launch testing campaigns for various use cases to evaluate our codec releases and integration scenarios.
• Review design and development work of peers within the test group.
• Participate actively in agile ceremonies, providing input during planning, refinement, and daily stand-ups.

Qualifications

• Significant experience developing with Python, especially in high-performance, multithreaded applications using Flask, SQL, and databases.
• Experience using Linux as a development platform.
• Hands-on experience with REST, HTTP, JSON, and Docker.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide clear progress updates and document work effectively.
• Experience working in Agile environments using Scrum or Kanban and tools like Jira.
• Understanding of continuous integration environments, including source control, version control, build creation, and testing.
• Knowledge of the software development lifecycle.
• Familiarity with test frameworks such as Pytest or Google Test.
• Skills in front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, JS, TypeScript, and Node.js are a bonus. Experience with AI tools for automation and development is also advantageous.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with BDD testing tools like Cucumber or Spock.
• Experience with AWS or other distributed cloud solutions.
• Understanding of system architecture and networking concepts for traffic testing and debugging.
• Knowledge of video technologies and quality metrics.
• Data analytics or data science experience.
• Experience with mobile test automation tools for Android and iOS.
• UI testing experience using Cypress, JS, or TS for automation.
