About The Role
The Trainee Progress and Assessment Coordinator is a key role in supporting the journey of our trainee drivers, from onboarding through to qualification. In this role, you’ll help keep everything running smoothly by tracking trainee progress, checking readiness for assessments, and coordinating schedules so the training pipeline stays on track. You’ll be at the centre of it all, connecting trainees, Driver Training and Compliance Officers (DTCO’s), and Training Coordinators to ensure everyone is aligned and working towards the same goals. You’ll also support the Driver Training team with administrative tasks, helping improve how we monitor, report on, and support trainee progress, while ensuring everything meets safety and regulatory requirements. This role is based out of our Village Street, Docklands office.
Key Accountabilities
- Oversee trainee progress from onboarding through to assessment, ensuring they stay on track and are ready at each stage.
- Coordinate assessments, training schedules and resources to keep the program running smoothly and efficiently.
- Work closely with trainees, DTCO’s and Training Coordinators to ensure clear communication and alignment.
- Monitor risks, identify bottlenecks and support continuous improvement across the training program.
- Support the planning and scheduling of training activities.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to minimise operational disruption while meeting training needs.
- Provide administrative support including reporting, meeting coordination and documentation.
- Track and report on trainee progress and support the ongoing management of training plans.
- Assist with broader team priorities and balance competing demands across training and operations.
About You
We are after someone who is proactive and organised and ideally has worked in a similar role and industry with trainers, frontline and operational staff.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience working in a similar role and blue-collar environment.
- Experience in training coordination or competency-based training environments ideally within transport or other safety critical industries.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Skills in extracting, analysing and presenting data.
- Skilled in scheduling/rostering.
- Effective communication skills.
- Experience using HASTUS and qualifications in Rail Operations or Training & Assessment is highly desirable.
