V.Ships Leisure is looking for Youth Staff on behalf of Orient Express Sailing Yachts.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, and supervise engaging programs and activities for children and teens in accordance with company standards and safety regulations.
- Lead creative, educational, and entertaining activities for children (ages 4–12 and beyond), including themed events, arts & crafts, storytelling, games, trivia, karaoke, and interactive workshops.
- Ensure the safety, supervision, and well-being of all children participating in youth programs at all times.
- Provide babysitting and child-minding services as required, maintaining the highest standards of care, discretion, and professionalism.
- Interact with guests proactively, ensuring satisfaction at all times with a particular focus on younger guests and families.
- Deliver daily briefings to the program manager.
- Follow and execute activity schedules as designed by the Program Manager.
- Contribute to the development of innovative, culturally enriching, and sustainability-inspired programming.
- Host and support family-oriented events, onboard celebrations, and social gatherings.
- Attend receptions, social engagements, and special events, enhancing the guest experience through presence and interaction.
- Assist with embarkation and disembarkation procedures in coordination with Guest Services and Concierge teams.
- Maintain accurate program documentation, including registration records, attendance logs, and incident reports.
- Monitor and manage inventory of supplies and equipment, ensuring readiness and quality of programming.
- Proactively resolve guest concerns and communicate any challenges or service issues promptly to the Program Manager.
- Assist in onboarding, mentoring, and training new Youth Staff as required.
- Assist with additional entertainment duties as requested by the Program Manager, supporting the overall success of the department.
- Ensure full compliance with onboard health, safety, and sanitation standards, including USPH guidelines.
- Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, discretion, and brand representation at all times.
Education/Experience/Qualifications:
- Minimum 1–2 years’ experience working with children or teens (e.g., Youth Counselor, Teacher, Camp Leader, Activity Staff).
- Proven ability to engage children in both educational and recreational environments.
- Experience designing and delivering structured youth programs or activities.
- Fluency in English (additional languages are highly desirable).
- Two professional references validating your experience in a youth-related role.
- Formal education or certification in Education, Childcare, Recreation, or a related field preferred.
- Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate programming.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a polished, guest-facing presence.
- Creative and energetic approach to delivering memorable experiences.
- Warm, attentive, and service-oriented personality aligned with luxury hospitality standards.
- Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural, fast-paced, and dynamic shipboard environment.
- Proactive problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
- Understanding of USPH (United States Public Health) standards and commitment to hygiene and sanitation excellence.
