Key Responsibilities
Main responsibilities:
- Having thorough knowledge of the Security Procedures, Ship Security Plan, Code of Discipline and Company’s Policies and Procedures related to security
- Working actively to maintain the security of passengers, crew and vessel
- Complete familiarity with the General Arrangement (GA) and Fire Safety Plans of the vessel
- Informing Security Officer about all significant security and discipline matters
- Working closely with the Security Officer/Security Supervisor and other Guards
- Being well familiar with and maintaining all security equipment in good working condition
- Security and fire rounds
- Transportation of passports (to and from the Embarkation Office)
- Various escort duties
- Gangway security
- Luggage inspection of crew signing-on, signing-off or coming back from shore leave
- Crowd control
- Using the cabin door lock reader, including replacement of door lock batteries when needed
- Assisting with any other duties related to safety and security as directed by section and department head
- Adhering and complying with all company policies and procedures, manuals and directives
- Performing duties and tasks according to above but not limited to that
Security Guard
Additional responsibilities:
- Attend passenger social events as directed by the Head of Department.
- Partake in inspections, trainings and meetings as directed by the Head of Department.
- Other shipboard tasks pertaining to departmental operations as directed by Head of Department.
- Attending trainings and office visits arranged by V.Ships Leisure where possible
