Qualifications: as per C601D (Marella Cruises) Training & Certification Matrix – must hold management level CoC as per STCW Reg.III/2
Key Responsibilities
- Keeping scheduled watches in the ECR (engine control room) and working in engine room
- Reporting any machinery defects affecting safe and environmentally sound vessel operation
- Ensuring all engine room safety equipment is in optimal condition
- Conducting proactive maintenance and repairs
- Creating requisitions and performs periodic inventory of spares and consumables related to area of responsibility
- Updating the Planned Maintenance System (PMS) with clear records
- Being directly in charge of particular groups of equipment, which can include air compressors, boilers, economisers, R.O. plants, evaporators, purifiers, and etc
- Maintaining the working area clean, safe, and handling tools and equipment with care
- Participating in emergency drills and responding to actual emergencies as per the Muster List
- Adhering to all safety regulations and using appropriate PPE during work activities
- Adhering to and complying with all Company Policies and Procedures, Manuals and Directives
- Performing duties and tasks according to above but not limited to that.
- Attend passenger social events as directed by the Head of Department.
- Partake in inspections, trainings and meetings as directed by the Head of Department.
- Other shipboard tasks pertaining to departmental operations as directed by Head of Department.
- Attending trainings and office visits arranged by V.Ships Leisure where possible
