On behalf of Orient Express Sailing Yachts, V.Ships Leisure is seeking an exceptional, versatile and charismatic Resident Vocalist to deliver world-class musical experiences that embody the elegance, sophistication and timeless spirit of the Orient Express brand. The successful candidate will headline professionally produced theatre concerts, perform sophisticated late-night lounge sets, entertain guests during sail-away celebrations, and host private singing lessons in the onboard Recording Studio. Working under the direction of the Voyage Director and alongside the Stage Manager, the Resident Vocalist will help create unforgettable guest experiences throughout every voyage.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform professionally produced solo theatre concerts.
- Headline multiple theatre productions.
- Rehearse with resident musicians and technical staff.
- Work closely with the Voyage Director and Stage Manager.
- Perform elegant lounge sets throughout the yacht.
- Adapt repertoire to suit the venue and audience.
- Perform live music during sail-away celebrations.
- Host private singing lessons and vocal coaching.
- Teach vocal technique, confidence and microphone skills.
- Interact with guests throughout each voyage in a warm, genuine and professional manner.
- Build meaningful relationships with guests before and after performances.
- Host events and confidently introduce performances.
- Represent the Orient Express brand with professionalism.
- Attend rehearsals and production meetings.
- Learn new repertoire as requested.
- Support themed events and signature experiences.
- Collaborate with entertainment and technical teams.
- Participate in promotional content creation.
- Socialise and interact with guests while maintaining the highest standards of luxury hospitality.
Education/Experience/Qualifications:
- Exceptional professional vocalist with extensive live performance experience.
- Ability to command a stage as a solo artist.
- Strong experience in theatre and lounge entertainment.
- Extensive repertoire across pop, jazz, soul, lounge, musical theatre and timeless classics.
- Outstanding public speaking, presentation and networking skills.
- Excellent microphone technique and stagecraft.
- Fluent spoken and written English.
- Impeccable appearance and grooming.
- Previous luxury hotel, theatre or cruise experience preferred.
- Ability to play an accompanying instrument (piano or guitar preferred) is considered a strong advantage.
- Previous vocal coaching experience.
- Recording studio experience.
- Ability to read music and perform harmonies.
- Additional languages are an advantage.
