Qualification: As per applicable requirements of:

• IMO STCW Convention (as amended)
• Company certification and training requirements per form C601d

Experience: As per Company Recruitment & Promotion Experience Requirements per form C601d

Description and Main Purpose of Job:

• Security of the ship and all personnel
• Security Trainings with Safety Officer
• Ship access management (gangway, platforms, marina)

Key Responsibilities:

• Organizing and deploying on-board security teams, liaising closely with the SSO.
• Monitoring ship security in passenger and crew areas, ensuring restricted areas are secure without compromising safety.
• Maintaining ship security equipment and reporting defects or spare parts needed to the SSO.
• Setting up and controlling access points, including access control of persons, luggage, and equipment.
• Assisting the SSO in communicating the current and intended Security Level on board to crew and port facilities.
• Liaising with any Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO) to complete the Declaration of Security (DoS) and reporting any unusual conditions to the SSO.
• Carrying out personal searches and keeping records as instructed by the SSO.
• Conducting luggage checks on disembarking crew members.
• Preparing a Bomb/Drug/Stowaway/Missing Person search plan and conducting random drug searches as instructed by the SSO.
• Developing and ensuring compliance with a Security Rounds Plan to maintain the integrity of all Restricted Areas according to the current security level.
• Conducting CCTV surveillance and investigations according to company procedures.
• Informing the Staff Captain (SSO) about significant security and discipline matters.
• Acting directly in security matters regarding passengers and crew, reporting actions to the Staff Captain (SSO), Captain, or Bridge Officer in charge.
• Handling the lock of safe deposit boxes.
• Providing security escorts when requested.
• Implementing and overseeing Pilot boarding/handling/escort procedures.
• Reporting security incidents to CSO under SSO’s overview.
• Reporting security concerns to SSO.
• Investigating security or disciplinary incidents and reporting confidentially to the SSO.
• Assisting with the investigation of minor personal injuries of passengers and informing the Master of any serious injuries.
• Conducting security familiarization and training for the crew.
• Maintaining and updating security records as instructed by the SSO.
• Creating and updating PFSA.
