  • Maintain the pharmacy, infirmary, and isolation in perfect condition of conservation, order, cleanliness, and hygiene.

  • Mandatory attendance during the entry of provisions onboard, to examine their quality, communicating to the Commander, via Immediate, any irregularities, including the state of the places where supplies are stored.
  • Supervise the boarding of passengers at the time of their entry onboard, refusing all those who are carriers of infectious diseases or others that cannot be treated during the voyage.
  • Accompany the Commander during inspections of different onboard facilities.
  • Stay informed about the health status of the crew and those who are not fit to remain onboard, informing the Immediate.
  • Attend to any personal accident occurring onboard, providing the necessary urgent assistance and classifying injuries as a technician.
  • Attend visits from health authorities at national and foreign ports.
  • Provide information to the Commander, via Immediate, about the sanitary status onboard.
  • Oversee onboard services for rat extermination, pest control, fumigation, decontamination, and disinfection.
  • Remain at the onboard medical post during the hours previously determined by the Commander.
  • Keep an inventory of all health materials (surgical materials, medications, and pharmacy utensils) and first aid materials, ensuring their conservation and being responsible for any shortages found.
  • Formulate requests for necessary medications and materials, forwarding them to the Commander, via Immediate.
  • Present a list of existing health materials onboard that must be delivered to the authorities at each port.
