Additional Requirements
- Familiarise themselves with the Group Safety Policy and to take all reasonable care to ensure the health and safety of themself and persons likely to be affected by their acts or omissions, as required under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974.
- Ensure that all working places for personnel are always, so far as reasonably practical, safe within the meaning of the above Act.
- Bring to the immediate notice of their supervisor, actual and potential hazards to safety, health, plant and equipment which come to their attention in the course of their work.
- Carry out planned inspections as requested in accordance with Group Safety Policy
- Comply with the Permit to Work systems in operation on the installation.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Execute instructions from the Driller, Assistant Driller and Derrickman where applicable.
- Assist their supervisor in identifying jobs which may require a risk assessment, and participation in said risk assessments.
- Carry out work on the drill floor as required.
- Perform basic maintenance work on the drilling equipment and on the drill floor.
- Be available on the drill floor, making sure there will always be 3 experienced hands available for operations.
- Carry out inspections of the derrick / setback area / DHT structure.
- Take and record mud weights and viscosity whilst working in the shale shakers, reporting to the driller any anomalies.
