  • O Departamento de Máquinas e a segurança da tripulação, das máquinas e do meio ambiente diretamente sob seu controle.
  • A implementação das políticas da Empresa contidas nos procedimentos da companhia e em outras instruções oficiais relacionadas a todas as operações de máquinas, segurança e proteção ambiental.
  • Garantir que os Oficiais e a tripulação do Departamento de Máquinas recebam treinamento formal de familiarização ao embarcar na embarcação, por meio do oficial designado a bordo.
  • A disciplina a bordo e a avaliação de desempenho de todos os Oficiais e tripulantes do Departamento de Máquinas.
  • A operação segura das máquinas e da planta técnica da embarcação.
  • A implementação do sistema Lock Out Tag Out (bloqueio e etiquetagem).
  • O monitoramento do desempenho da propulsão principal e das máquinas auxiliares.
  • O monitoramento e controle precisos do consumo de combustível e óleo lubrificante da embarcação, bem como do status das quantidades abastecidas (bunkers).
  • O abastecimento de combustível, óleos lubrificantes e outros fluidos conforme apropriado.
  • A manutenção da propulsão principal, máquinas auxiliares, equipamentos de manuseio de carga e máquinas de convés.
  • O cumprimento dos requisitos estatutários e de classificação, no que se refere às máquinas e aos espaços relevantes.
  • O registro preciso de todos os parâmetros operacionais das máquinas pelos oficiais de quarto/Oficiais de serviço no diário de máquinas.
  • O reporte de qualquer acidente e/ou dano às máquinas ou à planta técnica da embarcação.
  • A supervisão e o treinamento de Praticantes de Máquinas.
  • Atuar como Oficial de Segurança do Navio, juntamente com as atribuições previstas no Plano de Segurança do Navio (observando que esta função pode ser desempenhada pelo Imediato).
  • A avaliação e mitigação de todos os riscos identificados a bordo, em cooperação com os demais membros da equipe de gestão da embarcação.
  • Garantir que os arquivos e desenhos técnicos a bordo estejam atualizados e mantidos pelos oficiais designados.
  • Cumprir a alocação orçamentária da embarcação e os procedimentos de compras da Empresa.
  • A manutenção precisa de todos os registros relativos a óleo combustível, óleo usado e borras (sludge) a bordo (Livro de Registro de Óleo – Máquinas, Livro de Sondagem da Casa de Máquinas).
  • Apoiar o Comandante em todos os aspectos da operação da embarcação e atuar como representante técnico da Empresa ao lidar com terceiros.
  • Implementar e monitorar o sistema de manutenção planejada (PMS) estabelecido a bordo.
  • Garantir que todos os equipamentos e máquinas críticos estejam em boas condições de funcionamento e que quaisquer defeitos sejam reparados ou reportados de forma eficaz ao Escritório de Gestão de Navios, por meio do Comandante.
  • Participar integralmente das reuniões de gestão VMS a bordo.
  • Executar quaisquer outras tarefas ou responsabilidades conforme requerido pela Empresa.
