Additional Requirements
The Able Seaman is responsible to the Bosun / Supervising Officer for:
- Performing lookout and helmsman duties during watchkeeping in the bridge
- Carrying out maintenance work and other operational tasks as required
- Assisting in mooring operations when required
- Adopting safe working practices
- Conducting Safety and Security rounds as instructed by the Bosun / Supervising Officer
- Reporting to the Deck Officers on maintaining a safe deck watch and ensuring that the vessel remains properly moored
- Assisting in cargo operations (including tank cleaning and sweeping), as requested by the Chief Officer and/or the Officer of the Watch
- Executing any other tasks or assignments as instructed by the Bosun / Supervising Officer
