We are seeking an experienced Able Seaman to join the cruise vessel Azamara Journey. Embarkation is scheduled ASAP, with a contract duration of 7 months (+/- 1 month). Candidates must hold a valid Schengen visa and all required certificates.
Position Summary
Responsible for the maintenance to the exterior of the vessel in accordance with Company Policies, any National or International standards and any other prescribed regulations. Participating in the preparation of the vessel for arrival and departure, loading and discharging operations. Assisting and supporting the Deck department in every respect according to the Master’s, Staff Captain’s or Bosun’s instructions.
Reporting Structure
Reporting to the Staff Captain and the Bosun.
Safety Duties:
- Participates in crew and passenger safety drills according to instructions.
- Always complies with the Company’s safety and pollution prevention regulations and operating procedures.
- Leads by example by taking care of Health and Safety of self and others.
- Ensures that all work equipment, personal protective equipment, chemicals and safety devices are being used correctly.
Education/Experience/Qualifications:
- Valid STCW95 certification.
- Appropriate certification as required by regulations.
- Good understanding of exterior maintenance and repair.
- Must be fully proficient in operating tender boats and rescue boats.
- Extensive experience in subordinate positions and on board passenger ships.
