V.Ships Leisure is looking for Housekeeping Utility on behalf of Silversea Cruises. Responsible to deliver high quality, efficient, individualized and technically excellent cleaning and cabin service in accordance with Company Policies and strictly upholding any Public Health standards towards a goal of achieving total guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible to ensure the overall cleanliness of all assigned public or crew areas, including but not limited to: Daily vacuum, Dusting, Polishing, High dusting/cleaning, Garbage removal, Sanitizing, Shampoo and general floor care, Stripping and waxing, Service rest rooms, Polish brass, handrails and fixtures, Cleans and polishes glass doors.
- Cleans daily assigned officer cabins/bathrooms to the highest possible level.
- Responsible for laundry/valet services to officers cabins in his/her assigned section.
- Provides turn down service in assigned cabins and as per Benefit Grid.
- Carries out daily sanitation as per schedule and records in the sanitation log as per Company and Public Health procedures.
- Works as a team with all other housekeeping utilities and assists when and where needed.
- Responsible for requisition collection and distribution and ensures that deliveries are in accordance with requisitions.
- Responsible for towel and umbrella deliveries and collection at the gangway.
- Is part of the wheelchair assistance team and will attend the gangway when required.
- Responsible for cleaning materials/chemicals, proper handling and the correct storage of such.
- Responsible for the setup, presentation, watering of plants, orchids and flower arrangements in public areas (if assigned to florist duty).
- Embarkation and disembarkation duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Maintains a high level of communication and feedback within the Rooms Division department as well as other departments around the ship.
- Attends daily briefings and attends all training sessions with the aim to further improve his/her level of performance.
- Adheres to departmental standards, specifications and work routines and follows up on special departmental daily side duty assignments.
- Strictly follows the Outbreak Response regulations.
- Maintains Rooms Division lockers, area and equipment complying with Public Health standards.
- Respects all crew and officer privacy and does not discuss private information with other colleagues.
- Demonstrates discretion and courtesy when entering the cabins.
- Provides luggage handling services.
- Assists with regular inventories of Rooms Division department equipment.
- Properly and carefully uses ship equipment and truthfully reports faulty or broken equipment.
- Monitors repair progress with supervisor until repaired.
- Strives to minimize breakage and wastage and follows proper procedures when disposing of garbage.
- Displays cost and quality awareness.
- Assists managers and supervisors with the training and induction of new personnel.
- Proactively responds to issues or potential problems quickly and efficiently involving relevant people as required.
- Communicates any challenges, complaints or service difficulties to immediate supervisor.
- Displays a thorough knowledge of the ships daily activities to be able to advise the guests.
- Confidently and professionally engages with guests, using the guest names at all times.
- Adherence to the Company’s code of conduct at all times.
- Practices preventative maintenance.
- Keeps the Rooms Division Manager and Butler Manager promptly and fully informed of all problems and matters of significance.
- Adheres to Standard Operating Procedures set forth by the Company, and is accountable for such practices.
- Incorporates Company service standards, personalized service and sincere hospitality by creating positive experiences for guests, efficiently engaging with guests and anticipating guest needs.
- Practices good people management, maintaining proper conduct with all departments around the ship.
- Observes and enforces uniform and grooming standards according to Company policies.
- All other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience/Qualifications:
- Valid STCW95 certification.
- Previous housekeeping experience in a 5 star establishment.
- Knowledge of Public Health policies and procedures.
- Physically and medically fit.
- Moral integrity is required.
- Excellent fluent English (verbal and written).
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, Fidelio and hotel operating systems.
