Engineering & Build
- Design and build the data pipelines and ETL underpinning a medallion platform architecture — bronze, silver and gold layers — across ingestion, transformation, storage and serving.
- Build and maintain the data platform hands-on across Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Fabric.
- Implement tenancy isolation, security and performance controls within the pipelines, for both the V.Group managed fleet and external customers.
- Implement mastered data within the platform, working to master data definitions and stewardship owned elsewhere in the data function.
- Build the gold-layer data products and the interfaces that serve them, for downstream integrations and for MCP-based AI and agent consumption.
Standards & Technical Leadership
- Translate the target architecture into working technical standards and hold the team to them in code.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership, including design and code review.
- Act as the senior technical anchor for the data engineering team, mentoring engineers as the team scales.
- Implement data quality, lineage and observability controls across the pipelines.
- Direct a dedicated DBA within the IT support team on day-to-day database administration and operational support.
People and Team Management
- People management of direct team members – setting and measuring objectives

- Manage overall performance of the team using quantitative and qualitative metrics
