V.Ships Leisure is looking for Mandarin Speaking Commis II on behalf of MSC Cruises. As a Commis II, you play a crucial role in delivering high-quality culinary experiences to our guests. You will be responsible for preparing and cooking food items as per company recipes and standards while maintaining the highest levels of hygiene and safety. Working in a fast-paced and dynamic galley, you will be part of a dedicated team committed to upholding excellence in food preparation, presentation, and service. Key Responsibilities
- As a member of our MSC Family, you are responsible for ensuring that our guests have an unforgettable and pleasant experience.
- Prepare Products for all designated meal periods to company standard.
- Ensure all quality, taste & presentation is at a professional level.
- Maintain appropriate date marking, labeling and required logs.
- Apply all food cost control measures in accordance with company requirements.
- Monitor all issues that can lead to food waste in the section.
- Follow MSC Public Health regulations using HACCP protocols.
- Ensure Schedules are followed, and work timing is punctual.
- Report defects in equipment to your Executive Sous Chef.
- Ensure proper storage of food in refrigerators and freezers in your Area.
- Pick up Stores Daily from cambusa as per section requirements.
- Always Deliver products on time and to the Requirements of MSC.
- Works responsibly and consistently to ensure guest satisfaction.
Education/Experience/Qualifications:
- Relevant culinary qualifications and certifications.
- Fluent in English (oral and written) to communicate effectively within an international team.
- Proven experience as a Commis II or in a similar position on a cruise ship or within a high-volume hotel environment.
- Strong knowledge of International Food Safety Standards, food handling, and sanitation procedures.
- Ability to follow recipes and company guidelines to ensure consistency and quality.
- Team player with a proactive approach and a passion for culinary arts.
