V.Ships Leisure is looking for 2nd Cook Pastry on behalf of Orient Express Sailing Yachts. The Pastry Cook is responsible for the production of all pastry items onboard (Guest and Crew), according to standards established by our culinary partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The Pastry Cook will be assigned a station in the pastry to prepare all pastry items for the vessel.
  • He/she will be assigned to the day shift or night shift, depending on operational needs.
  • Assists with the transportation of food items from the main stores to the pastry when assigned.
  • Duties include the cleaning and sanitizing of their working area and working utensils following the United States Public Health rules and regulations at all times.
  • Will be assigned occasionally in an early standby in the pastry for USPH purposes.
  • Is aware of and/or acquires the necessary knowledge to comply with the ship’s standard operation, to assist guests and crew members with inquiries.
  • Active participation in onboard training programs.
  • Additional duties, not mentioned here, will be expected as per management request.

Education/Experience/Qualifications:

  • Fluent English and two additional international languages required (French, Spanish, Mandarin, German).
  • Education: High school degree or related. Formal training in an established Europe-based Butler school mandatory.
  • Previous professional experience: 2 – 3 years in a similar capacity in a luxury environment.
  • Shipboard experience: Not required.
  • Valid STCW certificates.
  • Valid Pre-Employment Medical.
  • Languages: Fluent English.
  • Culinary training mandatory.
  • Previous professional experience: 2 years in a similar capacity in a luxury culinary environment.
  • Shipboard experience: Not required but preferred.
