Assistant Electrician for Marella Cruises

Description

We are looking for Assistant Electrician for MARELLA cruises – vessel MARELLA EXPLORER.

Joining date 14/December/2025, Contract 9 months On / 10 weeks Off

Reporting line: Electrical Engineering Officer

Direct reports: None

Department: Engine (Electrical)

Qualifications: as per C601D (Marella Cruises) Training & Certification Matrix

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitoring functionality and condition of lights and lighting fixtures in passenger, crew, public, and technical areas, and replace as necessary
  • Rectifying reported issues in passenger, crew, public, and technical areas as per onboard AVO system
  • Assisting with fault finding and repair of electrical equipment
  • Monitoring low insulation resistance faults and trace/rectify any occurred low insulation fault alarms
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of electrical workshops
  • Keeping inventories of electrical bulbs, lights, lighting fixtures, and other consumables
  • Notifying the Chief Electrician in advance of replenishment needs
  • Reporting electrical faults or defects to the Chief Electrician
  • Adhering and complying with all company policies and procedures, manuals and directives
  • Performing duties and tasks according to above but not limited to that

Responsibilities

  • Attend passenger social events as directed by the Head of Department
  • Partake in inspections, trainings and meetings as directed by the Head of Department
  • Other shipboard tasks pertaining to departmental operations as directed by Head of Department
  • Attending trainings and office visits arranged by V.Ships Leisure where possible
