The Able Seaman is responsible to the Bosun / Supervising Officer for:
- Performing lookout and helmsman duties during watchkeeping in the bridge.
- Carrying out maintenance work and other operational tasks as required.
- Assisting in mooring operations when required.
- Adopting safe working practices.
- Conducting safety and security rounds as instructed by the Bosun / Supervising Officer.
- Responding to Deck Officers regarding the maintenance of a safe deck area and ensuring that the vessel remains properly moored.
- Assisting in cargo operations (including tank cleaning and sweeping) as requested by the Chief Officer and/or the Officer of the Watch.
- Executing any other tasks or assignments as instructed by the Bosun / Supervising Officer.
