Description
The Able Seaman (AB) is responsible for executing essential sea and port watch duties under the supervision of the Bosun or a designated officer. Key responsibilities include performing lookout and helmsman duties on the bridge, assisting with mooring operations, and conducting regular safety and security rounds. During cargo operations, they are tasked with maintaining a safe deck watch, ensuring the vessel remains securely moored, and assisting with tank cleaning or hold sweeping as required.
Key Responsibilities
Able Seaman (AB) is responsible for sea and port watch duties under the supervision of the Bosun or an officer. Tasks include:
- Perform lookout and helmsman duties on the bridge
- Assist with mooring operations
- Conduct regular safety and security rounds
- Maintain a safe deck watch during cargo operations
- Assist with tank cleaning or hold sweeping as required
Additional Requirements
Candidate must have the crane driver certificate and provide a list of equipment and Safe Working Load (SWL) they have worked with. Experience with a Sennebogen Excavator is preferred.
