Key Responsibilities
- The Third Engineer acts as a designated Engineer Officer of the Watch, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all machinery during active or UMS (Unattended Machinery Space) duty.
- Reporting to the Second Engineer for operational tasks, this role focuses on the hands-on maintenance of the main propulsion engines, auxiliary engines, and boilers according to the company’s technical procedures.
- In the absence of a dedicated Electrical Officer, the Third Engineer also assumes responsibility for electrical maintenance and the completion of related items within the Planned Maintenance System (PMS).
