The predicted salary is between 40000 - 50000 € per year.

To superintend all technical and safety matters concerning Company vessels.

To implement technical and safety policies of the Company on these vessels.

Carrying out repair maintenance and servicing of vessels with instructions of the Fleet Manager.

Carrying out negotiations with Class Surveyors relative to the surveys on board vessels, and reporting to the Fleet Manager.

Advise the Master and Chief Engineer of planned maintenance, and ensure maintenance work is carried out by the ship’s staff.

Examine vessel’s machinery spaces with reference to cleanliness and progress of maintenance by the ship’s staff.

Perform damage surveys on vessels and completion of necessary costing, reports, accounts, abstracts, etc.

Proceed to ports as may be necessary, on the instruction of the Fleet Manager, for the purpose of supervising repairs and restoration of the Company’s vessels and equipment.

Preparation of additional proposals for new regulations fulfilment if necessary with the approval of Regulatory Authority or Recognised Organization.

Ensure ship is able to fulfil the regulations as above.

When visiting a vessel for carrying out a dry-docking, he will be responsible for dealing with:

  • All technical matters locally.
  • All matters connected with the repairs, servicing and sailing of the vessel and their programming for prompt dispatch.
  • Ensure that all service instructions are speedily dispatched from the ship to the relevant office department or agents.
  • Carry out a complete general inspection of the vessel and report to the Fleet Manager on return.

The maintenance of safety equipment to legislative requirements and Company standards onboard vessels.

Submit for approval and thereafter monitor budgets for his area of expenditure responsibility and report variances.

Report relevant information to the Fleet Manager regarding sea-going personnel.

Job Requirements

  • COC Class 1, 2 or 3 holders with sailing experience, preferably on oil tankers.
  • At least 2 years of experience working as a Marine or Service Engineer or in related field in ship repair.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and good organisation skills.
  • Analytical, able to work independently, results-oriented, resourceful, and pro-active.
